Miro pricing in 2026, and why FigJam may be cheaper
Miro tends to spread through a company one workshop at a time. Someone runs a retro, invites the team, and everyone who edits becomes a paid member. A year later, finance is paying for dozens of seats that get used once a quarter. Here's what Miro's plans cost today, how to keep occasional users off paid seats, and how FigJam compares, especially if you already pay for Figma.
All prices below were checked on the vendors' own pricing pages on 21 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm them before you negotiate.
Miro's plans
From Miro's pricing page:
| Plan | Price per member per month | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 editable boards |
| Starter | $8, billed yearly | Unlimited boards, private boards |
| Business | $20, billed yearly | Adds guests and SAML SSO |
| Enterprise | Custom | From 30 members |
Miro says annual billing saves 20 percent over monthly.
Free gives unlimited team members but only 3 editable boards. Starter adds unlimited and private boards, plus 25 AI credits per member each month. Business adds guest access, SAML SSO and 50 AI credits per member. Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, SSO enforcement and pooled AI credits.
Members, guests and visitors
This is the part of Miro's pricing that saves the most money:
- Members take a paid seat and get full access.
- Guests have a free Miro account and don't take a paid seat. They can only access specific boards, with limited capabilities. Guests are available on Business and Enterprise.
- Visitors open a board through a shared link, without an account, and are free. Starter allows visitors to edit.
On Free and Starter, anyone invited to collaborate becomes a paid member. So on Starter, sharing a board by link, with visitor editing, can keep occasional participants off seats. On Business, inviting occasional collaborators as guests does the same.
At the Business price, every regular member you turn into a guest saves $240 a year.
The FigJam alternative
If your company already pays for Figma, check the Collab seat before buying more Miro seats. From Figma's pricing page:
| Figma plan | Collab seat | Full seat |
|---|---|---|
| Professional | $3 per seat per month | $16 per seat per month |
| Organization | $5 per seat per month, billed annually | $55 per seat per month, billed annually |
| Enterprise | $5 per seat per month, billed annually | $90 per seat per month, billed annually |
Figma says the Collab seat "includes full access to FigJam, Figma Slides, and Figma Buzz", plus view and comment access to Figma Design files. FigJam is Figma's whiteboard tool, so for brainstorming, retros and diagrams, a Collab seat can cover what most people use Miro for.
Side by side
Annual cost for 40 people who use a whiteboard regularly:
| Option | Per seat per month | Yearly total |
|---|---|---|
| Miro Business | $20 | $9,600 |
| Miro Starter | $8 | $3,840 |
| FigJam via Figma Organization Collab seats | $5 | $2,400 |
| FigJam via Figma Professional Collab seats | $3 | $1,440 |
Figures use each vendor's listed per-seat prices. The FigJam rows assume you already pay for a Figma plan.
When Miro is still worth it
FigJam isn't a drop-in replacement for every team. Miro may still be the better fit if:
- You run large workshops with many outside participants, where guests and visitors keep costs down
- Teams depend on Miro templates, integrations or AI features they use every week
- You need Miro's Enterprise controls and already negotiated volume pricing
In that case, the savings are in seat hygiene, not in switching.
What to do with this
Export your Miro member list and sort by last activity. Members who haven't edited a board in 90 days are candidates for guest or visitor access. Then check whether your Figma plan's Collab seats would cover the rest. Even if you stay on Miro, a FigJam quote at $3 to $5 a seat is strong leverage at renewal.
