Vercel vs Netlify pricing in 2026, and how to keep the bill predictable
Vercel and Netlify both put Pro at $20 a month, but neither bill stays at $20 for long. Both charge for usage on top of the plan, and they measure it differently. Vercel prices compute, functions and builds in dollars. Netlify converts nearly everything into credits. This post explains both models and the settings that keep the bill predictable.
All prices below were checked on the vendors' own pricing pages on 2 November 2026.
Vercel
From Vercel's pricing page, in USD, excluding taxes:
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $0 | Personal, non-commercial use only. Hard usage caps |
| Pro | $20/month | Includes $20 of usage credit, then pay as you go |
| Enterprise | Custom | SSO and SCIM, multi-region failover, 99.99% SLA |
On Pro, the page lists a developer seat at $20 a month and viewer seats as unlimited. It doesn't make clear whether the first developer is included in the $20 plan price, so confirm before you budget for a team.
Some of the usage rates shown for Pro:
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| Function invocations | From $0.60 per 1M |
| Active CPU | From $0.128 per hour |
| Provisioned memory | From $0.0106 per GB-hour |
| Builds, basic machine | $0.007 per minute |
| Builds, turbo machine | $0.105 per minute |
Pro also includes a "Flat Rate CDN" option that charges a fixed monthly price for CDN traffic instead of usage-based billing. The page doesn't list its dollar amount.
Paid add-ons listed on the page include SAML SSO at $300 a month, password protection at $20 per project per month, and static IPs at $100 per project per month. If you need SSO, it changes the comparison a lot for a small team.
Netlify
From Netlify's pricing page, in USD:
| Plan | Price | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 300 per month, hard limit |
| Personal | $9/month | 1,000 per month |
| Pro | $20/month, unlimited members | From 3,000 per month, with tiers up to 20,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
Netlify's Pro price includes unlimited members, which is the biggest difference from Vercel for a growing team. The page lists Pro credit tiers from 3,000 to 20,000 a month, but not the price of each tier. Get that quote before you assume you'll stay at $20.
Usage is measured in credits:
| Usage | Credits |
|---|---|
| Production deploy | 15 per deploy |
| Compute | 10 per GB-hour |
| Bandwidth | 20 per GB |
| Web requests | 2 per 10,000 |
Extra credits cost $5 per 500 on Personal and $10 per 1,500 on Pro, but only if auto recharge is turned on. It's off by default.
Other limits worth knowing:
- Concurrent builds: 1 on Free and Personal, 3 on Pro, then $40 each.
- Extra preview servers: $15 each on paid plans.
- Observability history: 1 day on Free and Personal, 7 days on Pro, 30 days on Enterprise.
What the models mean in practice
Seats are the first decision. Netlify Pro includes unlimited members. On Vercel Pro, developer seats are priced and viewers are free. For a team of 8 developers, that difference can outweigh any usage savings, so price your seat count on both before anything else.
Deploys cost credits on Netlify. At 15 credits per production deploy, a team that ships 100 times a month uses 1,500 credits on deploys alone. That's half of Pro's 3,000 starting credits before any traffic. Teams that deploy constantly should model this.
Bandwidth is the classic surprise. Netlify charges 20 credits per GB. A site serving 100 GB a month uses 2,000 credits on bandwidth. On Vercel, Pro's Flat Rate CDN option exists to make that cost fixed.
Hobby isn't for business use. Vercel's free plan is for personal, non-commercial projects. A company site on Hobby is outside its terms.
How to keep the bill predictable
- Set a spend limit on Vercel. The page says new teams get a default on-demand budget of $200, which you can change, with the option to pause projects when it's reached. Set it to what you can afford.
- Leave auto recharge off on Netlify until you know your monthly credit use. Know the trade-off before you hit the limit.
- Cache aggressively. Both platforms charge for compute and requests. Static pages and cached responses are the cheapest thing you can serve.
- Watch build minutes. On Vercel, turbo build machines cost 15 times as much per minute as basic ones. Use them only where build time actually blocks people.
- Review usage monthly. Usage-based bills drift. Spend ten minutes a month on the usage dashboard.
What to do with this
Small teams with steady traffic can run on either for close to the $20 headline. Teams with many developers lean toward Netlify's unlimited members. Teams with heavy or spiky traffic should compare Vercel's Flat Rate CDN against Netlify's credit tiers using real numbers from last month.
